In fact this is a simple example I wanted to use for explaining how to test private methods with Groovy.Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11632964711752480304noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19517292.post-13312723953748979762011-03-15T20:39:37.264+01:002011-03-15T20:39:37.264+01:00An even better solution would be to refactor the p...An even better solution would be to refactor the private methods out of the class doing the calculations. Those methods are obtaining data used in the calculation. So your class is doing two things and breaking the Single Responsability Principle.

The methods would be extracted to a new class or classes, and would become public. You could then mock them out in your tests, and test for a variety of different scenarios.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08635885747914277299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19517292.post-89529970685226035792011-03-01T20:40:53.662+01:002011-03-01T20:40:53.662+01:00The groovy and reflection example are almost ident...The groovy and reflection example are almost identical. You could have thrown the exception from the reflection API call and let JUnit simply report the exception.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
